This would be my third trip into Type-moon’s animu world, the first two being the sleep fest that was Tsukihime and the slightly under whelming Fate Stay/Night. Truthfully I have failed for not knowing what this was about. I had absolutely no idea that this series even existed before Shin wrote his review and introduced it to me. After that, the rest as they say was history.

Silly you, don’t keep slipping and spilling tomato sauce all over the pavement.

The movie itself was pretty well thought out I would say. The writer gradually increased the tension in each scene and released it during the climatic battle scene, which was more like a massacre in my opinion. Post-climax is where this movie really shines I would say. It didn’t leave a feeling of emptiness and instead more revelations were brought forth until the end of it.While some might say that the movie suffers from pacing problems i didnt feel any of that during my viewing. I thought the pacing was suitable for a detective/horror story as it takes time to build up the tension.

Also, the atmosphere was suitably dark as death and decay was evident in every corner of the city.

My favorite character is obviously the deliciously tsundere Ryogi Shiki. The scene where she ate her ice cream was particularly delicious as it shows her going dere-dere while eating it with only one hand. Damn I think I might have a broken girls moe….. and since I’m too damned lazy to give you the background of each character head over to sage Wikipedia, be forewarned of spoilers though.
